For Honorable Mickey Ibarra, who leads one of the largest, well respected Latino advocacy groups in the nation whose father came from Mexico during World War II to help with the reaping of crops, having diverse voices in politics is extremely important to nation building. He shares his journey with DyNAMC.

In this episode we talk to renowned activist Dr.Richard Lapchick and founder of The Institute of Diversity and Ethics in Sports, better known as TIDES, about his fight for diversity and inclusion in sports.

Dr. Lapchick is a regular columnist for ESPN.com and the Sports Business Journal. However, his fight for human rights and racial equality has led to him often being described as “the racial conscience of sport.”  Internationally recognized expert on sports issues, scholar and author Richard E. Lapchick brings DyNAMC readers insight into his commitment to equality and his belief that sport can be an effective instrument of positive social change.

However, with policies  implemented to foster diversity and inclusion, we have seen positive changes to this atmosphere over the years. DyNAMC speaks with Dr. Vicki Brown about what it is like to be a female in a one of the key leadership roles in the department and how the programs she implements fuel progress.
