It has long been a sad fact that there is a stigma surrounding HIV and the LGBTQI community. For activist Ben Ryan, starting the conversation to educate and inform others has been a lifelong passion to which he stays true. He told DyNAMC about his work with various foundations, AIDS drugs on the market, and changes to policy that could help to combat an ever present health problem.

Hailing from a military family and raised in Snellville, Georgia, Jasmine Jacobs tells DyNAMC that both her and her brother were actually her father’s first recruits to the military.The Atlanta native and seven year veteran of the Army National Guard explains that though she grew up in predominantly middle class white neighborhoods, she believes diversity is crucial to the success of any organization, especially when it serves a diverse populace.

The number of senior citizens is on the rise in the United States, with the U.S. Census Bureau projecting seniors will make up 20.9% of our population by the year 2050 (up from 13% in 2010). Even so, the group often faces discrimination and lacks access to the resources they need.
Anita Lofton, who is the founder and president of Senior Moment Life, is working to correct that by empowering and advocating for the aging population.

In this episode we talk with Daryl Joy Walters who has accomplished a lot in her young life.
She has obtained a degree in religion and philosophy, worked on political campaigns in a variety of capacities and stays active with her church and politics while studying for a master’s in theology. Walters considers her greatest accomplishment to be her decision to return to Louisiana after college and work at her parents’ trucking and catering business. “A lot of the skills I learned from them have been helpful when I work with other people,” she shares.

In this episode we talked with Michael Barlow recent West Point graduate and a millennial champion of diversity.
Candidates to the West Point Military Academy must not only apply directly to the academy, but also receive a nomination, usually from a member of Congress, or the President and Vice President of the United States. Michael Barlow recently graduated from West Point with a B.S. in Sociology and received the Coates Award for Most Outstanding in the West Point Sociology Program. He is also the only cadet in the history of West Point to qualify for the National Debate Tournament four times. Michael, a young man at the age of 23 years old, has his whole life ahead of him. He shares his inspiring journey with DyNAMC readers.
